For as long as I can remember, I’ve had insecurities about my legs. I spent years and years with my poor legs covered up, gasping for air and begging for sunshine on hot summers days

I know what it can feel like to wear shorts on a run. Terrifying, scary, horrible at first - but then Summer 2022 I realised the freedom and joy that it can also bring. My legs have got me through marathons, they’ve stood me upright and kept me going when my brain was telling me otherwise, they’ve cycled me through Hyde Park on a sunny day, helped me to swim in the sea and feel the freedom of water, and ran around the park when I was a child

So, it’s time to show our legs some love, and show ourselves some love. Wearing shorts is daunting, it’s scary - we all know what it feels like to have people beep their horns or catcall us at the slightest view of our skin. But wearing shorts was a power move for me, I decided to not let that little voice inside my head win, and also not to let those horn-beeping obnoxious people own the streets. What’s happening this weekend?!

We’re celebrating the girls, and we’re wearing the damn shorts! Join us at your local TGR for a 5km run, lead and supported by our amazing Ambassadors. And, we’ll be trying our best to run in a short shaped route too - just because we love a theme!

Shorts aren’t mandatory, but we’d love as many of you as possible to come wearing your shorts. All it takes is for one girl to empower another girl to wear shorts and feel comfortable, and we all have the power to do that this Saturday!
